In the last ten years alone, green technology has taken enormous strides, and solar cells in particular have become a symbol of the transition to sustainable energy. However, solar panels are nothing new in Sweden - one of the oldest plants is almost 40 years old and still produces energy from the sun. Although on a smaller scale than what a panel has the capacity to do today.

In recent years, more and more areas within greentech have received attention. Driving an electric car is becoming increasingly common as they can drive longer distances and more charging stations are being built throughout Europe. A major need that has emerged as a result of this is electric car charging at both offices and commercial properties, and adapted technical solutions that simplify the use of these.

In addition, energy storage is an area that has been discussed a lot lately. Development in the area has taken place at record speed in line with the international success of solar cells, and there are several methods to store the energy you produce yourself. Lithium-ion batteries, which are the same storage unit in electric cars, are still the most prominent in energy storage, even though more and more methods, such as hydrogen, are starting to enter the market. This proves that the need to optimize energy consumption is becoming increasingly important as companies build their own solar cell systems.

The area where the property is located

It is not only the general solar radiation and its angle of incidence that affect production in your location, but it is also about local weather conditions. For example, the Stockholm region generally has more sunshine hours than Dalarna, even though both areas basically have similar basic radiation. In addition, the number of sunshine hours does not differ much from, among other things, solar cell-dense Germany.

When dimensioning the solar energy system, the property's surroundings should always be taken into account. This includes the shadow image from the ventilation on the roof, how nearby properties are located or how the shading from trees moves over the area of the intended production. Furthermore, consideration needs to be given to all the different cardinal directions of the system and its inclination in relation to the sun's path locally over the year.

TECHNOLOGY SELECTION FOR THE SOLAR CELL SYSTEM

Technology choices are a key issue that should always be considered when a production plant is to be built. The production plant's LCA, or life cycle analysis, is at least 30 years and the system will over time be exposed to wind, rain, heat development, snow loads and other weather phenomena. Therefore, it is important for us to carefully choose the right technology for you, such as mounting systems, based on each unique condition for your property.

We at SBP always work according to your wishes, requirements and conditions. Based on this, dimensioning and an investment recommendation of the plant take place, taking into account the above points as well as the consumption pattern of the property. Then a complete investment basis is delivered where you get a final plant visualized in 3D on your property together with a thorough production and consumption calculation based on your local conditions.

  • Choice of solar panel and the efficiency of solar cells
    Today, the efficiency of solar cell modules is between 20-23 percent. Briefly explained, this means the proportion of solar energy that the solar panel has the capacity to convert into renewable electricity for use in the property.

    Energy production is affected by the panel's angle to the sun and its temperature coefficient. A carefully selected panel, in combination with a mounting system, makes a big difference to the total production from the solar energy system.
  • Mounting system for solar cells
    The mounting system affects the angle of incidence from the sun to the panel and the air flow for cooling the panels. The system is carefully selected according to the property's physical conditions, the business's consumption pattern and the client's wishes for the plant.

    The choice of mounting system affects in different ways, for example if the need is for the plant to spread production more evenly over the day, if the plant should maximize roof utilization or strive to achieve the highest possible production.

    The mounting system is also central to the load distribution of the solar energy system on the roof. A detailed feasibility study takes into account different weather conditions and how these affect long-term load, short-term load and semi-long load on the roof.
  • Power improvement and smart functions
    The choice of inverter and its system for power improvement also affects the production in the plant. In the inverter, the conversion from direct current to alternating current takes place and here the power obtained from the solar energy system is also normally optimized. Power improvement can take place at the panels, which makes the plant less sensitive to shadows that move over the roof. It also gives the opportunity to follow the panel degradation or control the production at unit level for complete control over the investment.

    We always offer digital monitoring of your plant according to our SLA (Service Level Agreement). This means that you can easily follow the production of your plant in real time and have the opportunity to act quickly if the system is in need of service.

SAFETY IN TECHNOLOGY SELECTION AND INSTALLATION

Integrating solar energy production into your business and property entails a significant responsibility from a safety perspective. Several international studies indicate that the lack of competence in both technology selection and installation leads to, among other things, an increased fire risk associated with solar energy. In addition, there are several currents, frequencies, and sensitive control equipment that need to be protected on both the AC and DC sides of an implementation. Furthermore, many installations are also sensitive from a work environment perspective and need to be planned with care before the start of the implementation – this responsibility lies entirely with the property owner via the building client responsibility.
