"Here you don't just get an office, you get a neighbourhood". That's how Bonnier Fastigheter describes Muninhuset, the company's second acquisition and first major new building project in central Uppsala.
They acquired the building, located a stone's throw from the train station and right next to Fyrisån, in 2018 as part of the effort to become a long-term property owner in the venerable university city.
- Since the acquisition, we have systematically gone through and upgraded the building everything from technical systems to create a full-service building for our tenants with reception, restaurant, conference and lounge. We are currently completing the new construction of Munin NXT, which is a stand-alone office building adjacent to Muninhuset, says Sara Björnberg, Head of Sustainable Development at Bonnier Real Estate.
And there's nothing wrong with that in terms of quality. The building is currently environmentally certified with Breeam In Use and they are also in the process of achieving an even higher level of certification. That alone reveals that the project has sustainability as its main focus - and the very values of sustainability and quality also rhyme well with SBP.
Sustainability at its best
In cooperation with Bonnier, SBP has contributed with a photovoltaic plant with a plant power of 256 kW. Apart from the usual elements of SBP packages such as enhanced system security and digitalized monitoring, the plant has been built with the best components on the market and is something that can guarantee that the building can run on green energy for decades to come.
- "To invest in such a large plant and put it in relation to the fact that it is centrally located in a major Swedish city is impressive to say the least," says Marcus Wicén, Head of Sales Development at SBP, and continues:
- In Uppsala, the electricity grid is highly loaded and through this plant, Bonnier is helping to relieve the local grid, which helps tremendously.
"Valuing social responsibility"
Anrika Bonnier has owned properties in the Stockholm area since the mid-19th century and it is important for them to set high standards for sustainable values in their partners. Something that SBP was able to live up to, according to Sara Björnberg.
- As a long-term family-owned company, we value personal relationships and that our partners take great responsibility both in current projects but also in society at large. The fact that SBP donates part of its profits to charity and takes an active social responsibility is something we value. We are very pleased with our cooperation with SBP.
