Complete delivery

SBP has repeatedly delivered solar power systems to Wåhlin Fastigheter. In Ursvik, the 16th (!) project to date is now being developed with a complete delivery of solar energy.

The collaboration to make Wåhlin Fastigheter's existing portfolio greener began as early as 2018. Since then, the collaboration has continued and resulted in SBP making complete deliveries of as many as 16 solar power systems; a production rate that emphasizes the real estate company's ambition to be at the forefront of the country's green transition.

Twelve of the facilities have been built on existing buildings and four on new constructions. The latest in the line are in the new district of Ursvik in Sundbyberg municipality, which is one of the country's largest expansion projects.

The area has already become popular, largely thanks to its adjacent miles-long forest and its well-thought-out opportunities for sports and exercise. It is therefore natural that sustainability is also central, something that Wåhlin Fastigheter identified early in its planning. Solar power systems were chosen as part of the energy source for the new residential buildings, which will include approximately 500 apartments.

Milestone: environmental certification for the first time

The latest project in the area involves a 220 kW system, which corresponds to the capacity to power approximately 80 apartments with solar energy each year. This particular building, which is the company's third phase in the area, has been adapted to be certified with the Swan label. Further proof that Wåhlin Fastigheter likes to think about sustainability one step further in its urban development.

Thomas Hörnfeldt is the project manager at Wåhlin Fastigheter, with new construction as the primary focus area, and has been involved in ten of the projects where SBP has delivered facilities, four of these as the main responsible. He describes the work in Ursvik as a profile project, especially from an environmental point of view.
– This is the first time we have chosen to go all the way with environmentally certifying a building and it really becomes a receipt for us as a company. It has become a hygiene factor to invest in sustainable energy and a lot has happened in just the last few years, now the environmental issue is on the agenda for every project.

What has been the best thing about the collaboration with SBP?
– The commitment. It may be something you just say in other contexts, but here it really is true. Your project manager Alexander Backström has been very committed and makes direct contact with our contractors instead of me acting as an intermediary. In my professional role, it is an incredible security. Even after the projects, I feel that you don't have to think about it anymore because Alexander has the situation under control.

“Wåhlin shows tireless commitment”

Even for SBP, the collaboration with Wåhlin Fastigheter is seen as successful. Alexander Backström has been the responsible project manager for 15 of the projects from SBP's side and believes that Wåhlin Fastigheter's investments are a strong statement in the middle of the nation's green transition.
–Creating more sustainable homes is the future and it makes it extra fun that Wåhlin Fastigheter has such high ambitions in letting their tenants, who after all are private individuals, live in green properties, he says and continues:

– Furthermore, I would also like to give a big praise to the staff at Wåhlin Fastigheter, who always show tireless commitment from start to finish together with us. It makes it so incredibly much easier for me as a project manager when the collaboration works so well!

Facts in brief
