The community match is an initiative of Hammarby Fotboll to strengthen social sustainability in society. SBP is one of several actors that share the commitment. "We want to show that opportunities exist," says Marcus Wicén.

"For us, sustainability is an extremely priority issue, or whatever superlative you should now use. While we mainly talk about energy and sustainability from an environmental perspective, we think social sustainability is just as important," says Marcus Wicén at SBP.

Recently, he represented SBP in the career fair Career Day, arranged by Samhällsmatchen. It is an initiative of Hammarby Fotboll, whose commitment lies in social issues where the category "employment" is one of three main values. It will enable jobseekers, including from vulnerable areas, to find new jobs. On the community match's website you can read, among other things: "Having meaningful employment in the form of work or study is for the vast majority of people a prerequisite for feeling that you are part of society".

Together with giant companies, they want to create opportunities for others

Klövern, Volkswagen, Telia and Coca Cola are just some of the companies participating and Sustainable Business Partner stood together with Stockholm Exergi in the web-televised program to discuss sustainability.

"The big part is about opening doors and creating opportunities that many people think may not exist. I myself come from the southern suburbs and I know that there are a lot of young people who think they can't get a job in the city. We want to show that the possibilities exist. If you have a different kind of background, it doesn't mean that you can't get a job you really want. It is an issue that I personally am very passionate about," says Marcus Wicén.

SBP has a strong commitment to sustainability issues of all kinds. Every year, 10 percent of the company's profits go directly to charity and they have also made similar investments in social sustainability. One is, among other things, "Handball School for All", a youth activity arranged by OV Handboll in Helsingborg (Read more about it by printing here).

Personal engagement: "There is a place for everyone"

The greentech industry is growing enormously, and so is SBP. This means that the future employment requirement will only increase, and Marcus Wicén believes that there are more parameters than prior knowledge and training that determine.
"Both sales and project management are areas where we almost always have a recruitment need. We have had very strong organic growth throughout the pandemic and this is not something that seems to be diminishing in either the short or long term," he says and continues:

"If we look at sales, it's a very individual-driven role. Sure, it's about complex processes and it sets very high demands in our industry. Having said that, we see that there is a place for everyone, whether someone is in their upper middle age or someone has just started their career. What is most important in this area is the individual and that is what will also determine in the end.

The other two values of the community match are Health and Equality. There, too, SBP is very committed and Marcus Wicén believes that these are cornerstones of their own operations.
"Equality is a non-issue today. All working groups benefit from diversification. If everyone is the same scrap and grain, there is a problem in everyone taking the same approach. Regarding health, balance in life is something we often talk about here at SBP. We work hard, but if we are to do that, everything else has to work, like health, diet and life outside the workplace. These are the keys to being a happy, and therefore high-performing, individual.
