The investment in Bredäng is the latest installation where the real estate company Stena Fastigheter is making a clear contribution to its sustainability journey. By investing in solar panels, apartments in Bredäng are now powered by self-produced electricity.
We at SBP had the honor of contributing to the green transition in a comprehensive concept, which included project management, technology delivery, installation, and ongoing monitoring and support. Some of the features of the installation include digital module measurement, extra safety functions, and detailed system layout.
– We have had a business dialogue with Stena for a long time, and it feels really good to finalize a facility that matches their environmental vision, says Marcus Wicén, Head of Sales Development at SBP, and continues:
– I think they chose to work with us because of our way of looking at the business from a holistic perspective. This, combined with technology choices that prioritize quality and long-term sustainability.
Annual electricity consumption of 200 apartments "just a start"
Stena Fastigheter themselves describe the project, in a post on their own LinkedIn profile, as a big step in their ambitions to work even more towards sustainability in the future.
"In Stockholm alone, we have currently installed solar cells that will give us approximately 400,000 KWh/year, which corresponds to 200 apartments' annual electricity consumption. And that's just the start of our green journey with solar cells."
The solar panel system in Bredäng has a capacity of approximately 165,000 kWh per year, which corresponds to the electricity consumption of 80 apartments. This makes this facility Stena Fastigheter's single largest at present. Marcus Wicén continues to view Stena's development in sustainability work positively.
– It is an exciting company to work with, especially in the way they choose to work from a sustainability aspect, both for the environment and in social development.
